Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!

— Psalm 31: 24

 Navigating the Empty Spaces Collection

The death of a loved one hurts. The pain: downright debilitating. Grief’s unpredictable wave proves unrelenting. It’s real. Raw. And likely, we’ve all experienced it to some degree. How do you handle life after a loss? Or when year after year, after year, after year - your loved ones are called Home, leaving you the last one standing in the midst of hollow spaces? How do you work through the turmoil and tears when the reality of your story still seems surreal? Whether you have lost one or your entire family like I have, pain is pain and it’s devastating.

In Navigating the Empty Spaces, a collection of intimate prose and poetry, I candidly express my doubts and dismays, grapple with grief and grace, and exhale through the hurt after the deaths of my parents and two older brothers. By God’s Grace, I am able to express the pain of loss through writing. The page serves as a place I feel completely connected and heard in a world where I now struggle to find my footing.

I hope by sharing my journey, the truth and transparency of my story resonates with you, and in turn, liberates you to do the same.

My Grace is sufficient for you,

for my power is made perfect in weakness.
